Birds & Berries & my Beautiful Babies

Another busy weekend, especially busy when we didn't really have anything planned.
We started off by doing some shopping Friday evening. Which was a bust. Why is it that when you PLAN to go shopping, you can't find anything. And yet, when you don't have time or money to even think about it, there are tons of things you want to buy. It was one of those trips. We bought nothing. But Carys got to play at Chik-Fil-A for a bit.

Saturday morning we picked strawberries at a local farm. We've been going there since we moved here, and we really have a lot of fun. Carys likes to taste-test before she picks, and then she likes to taste every-other-berry, just for good measure.
Cailyn wasn't too excited about it this year, but she will be next year, I'm sure.
We picked 3 buckets, which was about 15 pints. I spent about an hour hulling & slicing. Then made a pound cake. And whipped cream. YUMMO! And I tried my hand at jam. I've never mad it before & it's still setting as we speak, but I think it turned out okay. The jar sealed, so that's gotta be a good sign!

Cailyn has a new bestest friend - her sippy cup. It looks very similar to one that Carys has, so she gets pretty ticked off if she sees Carys with her cup. Screaming. And looking at me, as if to say. "Yo. Woman. Do your job. That's my stinkin' cup! GET IT!" I'm just glad that's she's finally interested in cups. Finally.

Chad & the girls at the patch

Me & the girls
Why is it that they never smile with me?
With Chad, they grin like crazy!See how cute? I dressed them kinda alike.
But then they refused to really cooperate. Oh well. Ponies across from the patch
Carys: Awww! How cooooot! A mommy and a Carys ponies!
After the strawberry adventure, we visited a nursery to look at trees.
This peacock got a good look at Carys' granola bar - she dropped it & he snapped it up.Our latest science project
This frog has been outside in basically the same spot for 3 days
Hmmmm......Carys makes us check on it every few hours.
I'm always shocked when it's still there.
Now, my beautiful babies
I have been trying to get the best shots of the girls for a little project...
and I LOVE these pics I took on Friday.
Carys' hair cooperated.
And Cailyn was happy and looked where I wanted.

Look at my big girl. This picture makes me tear up.
She looks so much older than 3. And so sweet & sincere.

I want to take the boys to a strawberry patch too. Hopefully we will soon. I think you and I feel the same way about our babies. I look at Keely sometimes and can't believe he is 2 1/2. They are growing up too fast aren't they.
