The results

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was wonderful that we were in our own home for it - we are very lucky!

I know that I promised to get information out today, but I just haven't had a chance until now.

We met with Dr. Koeleveld at 4pm Wednesday. He told us that Chad has two different types of tumors; one is slow-growing, one is not. One is benign. One is not.

He has Oligodendroglioma. It is a slow growing tumor, and while we are concerned, this is not the tumor that concerns us.
He also has Intermediate (grade III) Astrocytoma. It is an aggressive tumor and partially malignant, according to the pathology reports.

Chad will begin radiation and chemotherapy in 3-4 weeks. The treatment will be aggressive, so please continue to think of us as he starts treatment in the next few weeks. We are staying positive and hoping we can stunt the growth of these tumors.

Chad has had an allergic reaction to his seizure medication, so we had to discontinue it. I'm told it will stay in his system for 3-4 days, so I'm hoping that's true. We'll be starting a different medication on Monday.

He will have his staples removed on Monday, so we are looking forward to that. Each hurdle we overcome seems like an enormous step in the right direction.

Again, thank you for your thoughts & prayers. We appreciate them - and we still need them.
