Potty training of a Princess

Several months ago, I invited Cailyn to sit on the training potty. For the very first time. She was only mildly interested, but sat on her little throne for a few moments before she decided she was done. I just wanted her to get used to the idea, and didn't really care if she was a potty-trained wonder child at 18 months.

I haven't really pushed it. It's no secret that I would like to be done with diapers. And wipes. (And wiping, for that matter...)
But I learned through Carys that you can't really push PTing - they get it when they're ready.

So, casually, she's been gaining interest. We picked out her very own panties; Dora, Disney Princess & Elmo. I tucked them away in a drawer, knowing that she would ask to wear them soon enough.

Recently, she would just sit there...for the longest time. She figured out that if she sits there long enough, she'll go - and then she gets a reward! But now, she just goes when she has to. There's not sitting & waiting on our part. I call that real progress.

I'm trying not to get too excited, but I think the time of diapered bottoms is almost over in our household. It's a little sad. But really freeing, too.

Now if we can just potty train Skye and Fiona, I'll be ecstatic. Don't get me wrong, I like tootsie rolls; just not the natural ones on the floor.
