8 Rounds down, at least 4 mo' to go before we know mo'

Chad finished round 8 of treatment 2 weeks ago. He changed when he started this round due to a conference for work. Instead of starting on Monday nights and ending on Friday nights, he delayed round 8 until Saturday night wrapping up Wednesday night. This change actually seemed good because he felt well on the weekends instead of having the worst hit him on the weekend after ending his 5 day treatment. The drawback was he felt too bad to go into the office Thursday and Friday but was able to get some work done from home.

Chad goes for a checkup on Monday and he will start Round 9 on Friday since we have a wedding attend next Saturday and he wants to be close to 100%.

Last week he went for a neurologist checkup. Everything went well. He had a baseline EEG done back in January. He perked the doctor's interest by suggesting doing another EEG but this time trying to induce a seizure to see what part of the brain the misfires are being generated. Chad seems to think he can partially control his seizures by utilizing meditation techniques. Chad also thinks he can induce a misfire now that we know what some of the triggers are. He says that he gets about 2-3 misfires a week but they usually don't propogate into seizures due to his techniques. I guess this theory will be put to the test next week as he will try to induce a misfire and let it propogate into a seizure. Not to worry though since he will be in a controlled environment. The neurology office has a nice sleep lab (similar to a 5 star hotel room but smaller) where he will lay in bed with electrodes on his head and cameras monitoring his every move.

We will keep you posted if anything interesting comes from Chad's little experiment.

How did you know, Carla? Have you been spying on us again?

It's more like me closing my eyes, relaxing, and not trying to block out the "bad" thoughts. Lately I've been trying to focus on specific thoughts like the beach or eating cookies and milk or something as simple as my left toes. For some reason, my left toes seems to work best but if I focus on my right toes, I start feeling worse. The brain is a weird thing and when you add in the fact that it's my brain, it's an even stranger organ.
