Sickies, STAY AWAY!

My mommy senses were kicking into overdrive the last few days - Cailyn was not acting like herself.
She was ultra clingy. Ultra whiny. Just not so much of a joy to be around.

This morning, I noticed she had a nasty little barky cough - much like the one Carys often gets. I was thinking croup, for sure.

But.
No.
Strep throat.
Again.

This is the part I feel terribly guilty about. I opted for them to give her a shot of penicillin, instead of the t-e-n days of antibiotics. She doesn't take medicines well - and I thought the shot was the better option.
She was so mad at me, and the nurse, for holding her down for the nasty shot in her derriere. She's till reminding me that her butt hurts, hours after the debacle.

She sleeping it off now. Hopefully, she'll feel like a new little lady when that medicine has a little time to do its job. And I readily welcome a better-feeling little Lanford lady.

She got to pick some prizes out of the treasure box at the pediatrician's office, so she got a little loot to perk her up.

We immediately had to buy a new toothbrush & you wouldn't believe how long it takes a two-year-old to pick a new toothbrush. After hours of deliberation, she settled on Hello Kitty. Seems to be a new favorite around here...

Let's just hope that these children of mine don't start trading illnesses. We haven't been to the doctor's office with them for a while, but I sense a trend starting. I really hope my mommy senses are wrong (again).

I hope Cailyn is feeling better real soon. You were right to buy her a new toothbrush. Dentists actually recommed using 2. One for morning and one for night time. The idea is that the brushes have time to dry out in between uses and therefore keep the growth of germs and bacteria down. Alot of people unkowingly reinfect themselves this way. I hope the sickies stay away from the Lanford household.

Awww, I hope she recovers quickly for you. Ben had a mystery illness yesterday - nasty fever twice and then fine. Weird. I hate Winter.

On a lighter note - can't wait for your recipe today!
