shots & smelly pants

Cailyn had her 4-month check-up today.
Sigh. My baby is growing. Too fast, if you ask me.

She weighed in at a whopping 15 lbs 13oz. And she's 26.5" tall now.
I thought for sure she was over 16 lbs, but not yet.
(Carys was 16 lbs 6 oz at 4m - and I think 25.75" tall)

She had 4 shots. And any mom can tell you that there is nothing good about those shots.
My poor girl. She was a trooper. She got 2 in each leg, and wailed like a banshee.
I cuddled her afterwards, and she was fine. Carys got pretty upset about it also - but soon realized that Cailyn was okay.

Before we left for the great adventure at the Pediatrician's office, I had the great joy of getting Carys dressed and taming her mane. The mane wasn't so bad today. She got dressed okay too...but she insisted on wearing her big girl panties.
I wasn't convinced.
Reason #1: I don't think I'd like to clean an "Uh-Oh, Mommy!" out of her booster seat.
Reason #2: She wasn't feeling well, and I didn't think that she would be able to tell me BEFORE she had an accident.
Reason #3: It was easier for me to put her in a PullUp in case I heard "Uh-Oh, Mommy!".

And I was right. Again. Yay for PullUps!

I was slightly embarrassed when the pediatrician asked what smelled so bad.
"Um...I keep a clove of rotten garlic in my diaper bag for fun?"
It's just Princess Yucky Pants.

Pictures from our weekend:

A tired little Polar Bear after our evening walk on Sunday.

Learning a new skill
Cailyn will "sit" for a few minutes, just so she can
chew her beloved plastic ring.
How much money could I have saved if I knew this before? LOTS!
I could just buy toys from the doggie section of the store
instead of the more expensive baby variety.

Carys, peeking at me
I know...you noticed that her hair looks FABULOUS!
Thanks for noticing. It took me all morning to tame.
And it looked really nice until 5 minutes after
this picture was taken.
Imagine that!

Carys & Cailyn, enjoying the beautiful weather we had Saturday.
Fall is my favorite Season of all!
