Angels Among Us

I'm not a huge country music fan, but that Alabama song "Angels Among Us" has been stuck in my head for about a week now.

Today, Chad went out to get the mail -- just like any other day.
We're used to getting cards of encouragement these days, and of course Christmas cards.
But one card stuck out. There was no return address.

I thought it was odd, and when Chad opened it, I was more puzzled. It was sent from Charlotte. I don't think we know anyone in Charlotte. Or close by. Maybe we're just not thinking hard enough. Regardless, someone didn't want us to know.
The card was simple. The penmanship was nice, but I didn't recognize it. The statement inside was simple: "Chad -- Merry Christmas."

Inside the card was a sheet of paper, with a type-written message:

Chad
This small gift is from a friend.....to remind you that many people love you and are praying for you this Christmas.

And there was a money order tucked inside. The sender's name and information were not filled out. We have no idea who sent us this gift. We've been trying to figure it out. But to no avail. One of life's little mysteries, I suppose.
We are humbled by your generosity. We don't know who you are, but we sincerely thank you.

And we sincerely thank all of Chad's co-workers who have taken up donations. We have been blown away from everyone's support; emotional, physical & financial. We don't have the words, but please know that we are extremely grateful.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I don't know what else to say.

I, too, am thankful. There are indeed many, many angels among us. (I believe they have always been there but we just didn't know it.) You know who you are but what you don't know is what you have given Skye, Chad, Carys, Cailyn and their families. It isn't just the money, food, and prayers but also the knowledge that they aren't alone. Knowing you are loved, encouraged and supported is a priceless gift. Thank you, everyone! Regardless of what you have given, it has sincerely been a blessing. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

There are Angels among us for certain, and you have been that Angel before, now it is time for your Angels to watch over you and your family.
