Channeling Carys' inner Diva

While shopping for school clothes last week, Carys fell in love with this very girly dress.

She drug me over to it, and declared:
"Mom! I...HAVE...to have this dress! Is this beautiful or what?"

It was pink. Very pink.
And had lots of bling.

I kid you not; two-inch-long rhinestones all around the neckline, ala a younger version of Liz Taylor.

I said, "Carys, where will you wear this dress?"
"Over my bathing suit."

Just so we're clear...she wants to wear a diamond-encrusted dress over her bathing suit?
That's a Diva, I tell you!

"Well, I think it's a bit fancy to wear over your swimsuit....maybe you could wear it to school for picture day or something."
"But Mom, I'm a fancy girl."

So, I guess it's official.
My tomboy is a girly girl.

More proof: she realized she was going to orientation at school tomorrow, and requested a mani-
pedi. In pink. With sparkles.
Case closed.

Oh, and she did wear her Diva dress this past weekend to the lake. She was so proud to show it off.

Being a Diva is tough work.....have to start young!(She definitely did NOT inherit the diva gene from her mother!)
